For our Client, we are looking for a professional to take responsibility for the company’s finance and accounting operations, with a strong focus on data accuracy, financial reporting, controlling, and the modernization of financial processes.


Head of Accounting and Finance (m/f)

Place of work: Zagreb

 

Responsibilities

This role involves managing accounting functions, preparing financial reports and analyses for management, monitoring costs, revenues, and cash flow, as well as working daily with various digital systems from which data is collected, verified, reconciled, and transferred into accounting and reporting tools.

An important part of the role involves working with various business and financial systems. Since data is maintained across multiple tools, it is necessary to regularly export, import, verify, and reconcile data between systems, such as invoicing tools, banking platforms, accounting software, payroll systems, ERP systems, CRM systems, and internal reporting spreadsheets.

We are looking for a person who is comfortable working in a digital environment and who sees finance as a function that can be improved through better data, clearer processes, stronger controls, and automation. This role is suited for someone who enjoys identifying inefficiencies, reducing manual work, standardizing reporting, and improving the way financial processes are organized.

 

Key Tasks

  • Independently manage the company’s accounting
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
  • Create management reports and financial analyses
  • Monitor revenue, costs, margins, profitability, and cash flow
  • Ensure the accuracy of accounting and financial data
  • Reconcile data across different systems
  • Prepare data for tax, audit, and regulatory requirements
  • Participate in budgeting, forecasting, and planning
  • Analyze variances between actual results and planned performance
  • Collaborate with management, sales, operations, external consultants, banks, and tax advisors
  • Optimize financial and accounting processes
  • Implement improved controls, procedures, and automated reporting

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in accounting, finance, or controlling
  • Experience in preparing financial reports and management analyses
  • Good knowledge of Croatian accounting and tax regulations
  • Full proficiency in the Croatian and English languages
  • Ability to work with large volumes of data, and experience with report automation or data transfer between systems is considered an advantage
  • Experience with ERP systems, BI tools, accounting software, CRM systems, payroll systems, or invoicing tools is considered an advantage
  • Strong analytical skills, accuracy, and ability to work independently
  • Experience in technology, consulting, SaaS, project-based, or fast-growing companies is considered an advantage
