Information Security Engineer (m/f)

Place of work: Zagreb


As an Information Security Engineer with the focus on security operations, you will be responsible for implementing, maintaining and supervising BRUGG IT-systems' security monitoring solutions (primarily in the server environment) to protect the company's digital assets. You will work closely with cross-functional teams including the Security Team within the international BRUGG Group to ensure that our systems meet security standards and compliance requirements as well as external partners.


Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and implement security measures to protect computer systems, networks, and data
  • Conduct regular security assessments and vulnerability scans to identify weaknesses in systems
  • Monitor security events and alerts in order to detect and respond to potential threats in real-time
  • Maintain incident response plans to effectively respond to security incidents and breaches
  • Coordinate with internal teams (CISO and Security Architect) and external partners to investigate incidents, contain threats, and restore normal operations
  • Execute defined strategies and processes to remediate vulnerabilities and strengthen the security posture
  • Collaborate within IT Teams to integrate security controls into new and existing systems
  • Support security awareness training programs to educate employees about security risks and best practices
  • Maintain security policies, procedures, and documentation
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, industry standards, and best practices, such as GDPR, ISO 27001 and NIST Cybersecurity Framework
  • Support audits and assessments to verify compliance and address any gaps
  • Provide technical support and guidance to internal teams on security-related matters


Requirements:

  • Completed studies in computer science, information technology or similar is an advantage
  • Several years of experience in in the area of Security Operations within a Microsoft Environment (ideally Windows Defender)
  • Certifications in Microsoft Server, Azure Cloud, CISSP or comparable qualifications are an advantage
  • Ability to decompose and analyse systems to identify weaknesses, ineffective controls and effective solutions and to develop security and privacy requirements
  • Ability to identify and resolve security related issues and collaborate with other team members and colleagues
  • Fluency in English (spoken and written) is mandatory
  • Great communication skills and the ability to work within an international environment
